FERRE GRIGNARD & BAND
NOV - APR | Lange Beeldekensstraat 94
Ferre Grignard rose to fame in 1966 with his debut record Ring Ring, I’ve Got to Sing, followed by songs such as Drunken Sailor, Crucified Jesus and She’s Gone. His music and personality made him an icon of the rebellious spirit of the 1960s.
In addition to Ferre’s own work, the exhibition also features artworks by his musical companions from the Ferre Grignard Skiffle Group: Emile De Somer, Jef Kersting, Johan Koopmans, Eddy Mertens, Butch Peleman, George Smits and Mike Zinzen. Works by Fred Bervoets, Ferre’s close friend and kindred spirit since 1958, are also on display.
